- How George W. Bush Redefined American Freedom by James Bovard – Whatever else has happened, we survived eight years of Bush. (Well, most of us did.) The trick now is surviving his legacy. And whatever other damage those behind him can inflict.
- Why are men with glasses so incredibly attractive? – The Grumpy Owl – I turn up in the strangest places. Have no idea what this is about but it made me smile. Notice that it's not just "hot" but "so incredibly hot." I guess that means looking at me can actually cause a pain in the crotch.

- Officers used Taser prematurely at Vancouver airport – thestar.com – It took two years to figure this out? One viewing of the tape would be enough for any rational person. And I object to the "prematurely" part. Implies that they would have had to use to the taser eventually. Also bullshit: "The members demonstrated no meaningful attempt to de-escalate the situation, nor did they approach the situation with a measured, coordinated and appropriate response," Their response WAS coordinated. It was also murderous.
- British bird-feeders may be splitting species – 03 December 2009 – New Scientist – "The friendly bird-feeder could be an evolutionary force to be reckoned with. British people who feed birds are contributing to the evolution of a whole new species of blackcap, new research suggests."
