I too stumbled upon one of the articles you mention,
the one about Communist consumer goods make comeback
The most telling part is not about the communism but about ourselves.
In the middle of the article where the meaning of EU’s currency is explained.
“Many farmers still use the 100 euro (dollar) machine to turn butter”
The inferior consumer goods of Easter Europe don’t begin to compare with
the superior stupidity and ignorance here in the west.
