If there is a benefit to winter dressing it’s that every man becomes gift wrapped. (Just like that crap you get for Christmas.) There is an ugly outer layer, torn away to reveal the better looking inner layer. Then, if you are so lucky, that too is torn off to reveal your longjohns. Let’s hope you have something going on under those.
Because, with longjohns, we are back to ugly.
Longjohns are a lot of things but, if the nineties taught me anything, it taught me that sexy is not one of them. (The nineties also taught me that that acid, speed, hash and cocaine, when mixed, might cause insomnia and an unpleasant delirium.)
So, unlike the above advertisement, I don’t recommend lounging around in your long underwear with your longterm male companion. If you have a longterm male companion, I’m quite sure you could find something a bit more titillating.
Buy some nice pajamas or something. He deserves it.
And get your finger out of your nose.
Fortunately, longjons are as useful as they are ugly. To stay warm, you must dress in layers and your legs are no exception.
But, for the love of God, don’t try to dress these babies up. Don’t wear them beneath shorts or show them off. Just wear them –beneath your pants– and think no more about them. They should not be seen and they should never be heard.
If you have to reveal them to your “company” only do so briefly. Hurry out of them and become naked as quickly as possible.
But, as always, remove the shirt first. There are few things more disturbing and ridiculous than a pant-less man in a shirt. Who do you think you are?

I tried a pair of my brothers longjohns the other day and was surprised at how warm and comfortable they felt. I have now have courage enough to wear them on cold winter days (I am only 22),. The only difficulty I find is that they constantly slip down, unless you you clip them into your braces along with your jeans. Just make sure they don’t show above your jeans though!
P.S. My mates don’t rib me having tried them – some are converts.
