I really didn’t want to vote in this election. To start with, this election is illegal. In the middle, I don’t like or trust any of these people, To end with, I don’t believe in voting or democracy. Voting is to civic duty what masturbation is to fucking. A fantasy while you touch yourself. That’s all. Sooner or later, you should probably touch someone else. With something hard or something wet. Either way, it should feel good.
To believe in democracy, you have to believe the majority of the people are right. They’re not. The majority of people have always been wrong about everything. Until a minority corrects them. Then the majority usually murders the minority. After a bit of torture.
These people, the majority, are supposed to govern us? These stupid ruthless people? They can’t even govern their own life. I don’t need them to govern mine. And I don’t want anything to do with theirs.
Yet, when you tell people you’re not going vote, they always say the same thing: “If you don’t vote, you can’t complain.” Well, that’s bullshit. Everyone is allowed to complain. It’s a right. One that the majority was against when it was first suggested and one that they’re still against when the complaints offend them.
Even if complaining was a privilege, as the majority of people wrongly suggest, it’s not the people who refuse to vote that should lose it. It’s the people who vote for the winner. Those people shouldn’t be allowed to complain. After all, they got what they asked for.
The next time someone tells me that I can’t complain if I don’t vote, I’m going to find out what party they hate the most. Then I’m going to vote for them. Just out of malice.
So I didn’t want to vote. But I did. Mainly to keep my roommate Amie company while she wasted her time.
I sat down, looked at the named and voted for the “Communist Party of Canada.“ Not like it made a difference. It never does.
If this was about making a difference, we’d be allowed to vote for the American President. As my third favorite Japanese person and my second favourite American says: “We’re all Americans!”
