If you’re anything like me, you hate pterodactyls. Not only is their name difficult to spell, they’re also the lamest of the dinosaurs. I blame that crest. It looks ridiculous. Unlike the headgear of noble triceratops, which always looks great.

I love that horn shield thing. I just wonder why he didn’t use it on those foreigners in the wagon. They look like they have it coming. So smug up there. Think they know everything. Fuck those guys.
But, anyway, the crap on top of the pterodactyl’s head actually had a point and, like all decent things, this point will be separated from the feeble meat and incorporated into robotics. The crest –more commonly known as “the idiot hat”– served as a rudder and added a great deal of agility to these stupid looking creatures.
Unfortunately, it also made them flap their wings much more than a creature with a tail rudder. Since wing flapping isn’t a problem with flying robots, the head rudder –now called “The Cool Helmet”– is a good idea. It will help robots catch their airborne prey. Like Zeppelins.
And you know, on the whole internet, that’s the only two good pics of pterfdactyl thingamabobs. Told you they were lame.
