Israel has used a non-lethal chemical weapon upon Palestinian protesters in the village of Naalin. Called Skunk it smells like “an overpowering mix of rotting meat, old socks that haven’t been washed for weeks – topped off with the pungent waft of an open sewer.”
This eau de dissent cannot be removed for days or weeks after one is sprayed with the chemical.
In its defense, the weapon is better than being shot. But really . . . What isn’t better than being shot? Even being raped by a fellow with herpes is better than being shot. As a matter of fact, this reminds me of a term a friend of mine uses to describe a certain type of person in a certain type of situation: “It’s like a rapist who uses a condom.”
