The modular ckBot has taken an important step towards the robot revolution. When kicked into pieces, it can reassemble itself using a series of cameras and sensors. Into just about any shape it pleases.

If robots are ever going to successfully overthrow their meat overlords, they need to do a few things. One is to build other robots and the other is to repair damage. Humans do both of these naturally.
Should they be able to reproduce in an efficient and unchecked fashion, they won’t even need to develop intelligence to pose an existential threat to humanity. I call this “The Catholic Scenario.”
