End Of Vacation Coincides With End of Economy: Coincidence?

My vacation is over.  Have you enjoyed our time together?   I sure have.  We’ve had some special moments; golf, painting, TIFF party and even some robots.  But all good things must come to an end.

In the span of two short weeks, the world has certainly changed.  The American economy has finally collapsed.  This was long overdue.  They’ve been buying things they can’t afford with money that doesn’t exist for quite some time.  Bills always come due.  This is just the first wave.

I just can’t leave you people alone.  I take two weeks off and you go broke.

But you’ve been acting like children for years.  You were all too happy to live on credit.  And now you have to pay.  Well, having to  pay certainly sucks.  But you still have to do it. Your complaints are useless.  Welcome to reality. This is what being an adult feels like.

Perhaps it’s good that I left you to your own devices.  Now you’ll have to grow up.

As for me, well, I don’t have all that much to lose.  I’m not heavily invested in this economy, society or anything but me.  I pay cash, have no debt –not even with my tailor– and, frankly, as bad as this may get, there’s always work for a fellow who can pour a shot and listen to your bullshit.  Over the next few years, I expect to be doing a lot of that. If anything; I’m invested in your failure.

But, even more important than any of that, my blue room also changed.  It’s now green, yellow and blue.  I’m happy with the results.  Now, I actually enjoy spending time in here.
