Eaten Songbird Kills Hawk From Within?

A dead hawk in California has been discovered with a songbird’s claw sticking out of its chest.

No one is quite sure what happened here. Some think that the songbird, which had been eaten, fought its way through the hawk’s stomach.

That reminds me of Alien and of a hamburger I had this afternoon.

Is this a happy story? I have no idea. I usually like voting for the underdog –except where raptors are concerned– but both predator and prey ended up dead. It’s not exactly Disney.

All that can really be said is that the songbird was a spiteful lil’ critter.
