Foul Owl and Pickles

foul-owl-and-pickles.jpg

Some days I go to the internet and some days the internet comes to me. Fugitive Toys sent me a link to this little creature and his pet.

I’m hoping they’ll also send me the toy.

I’m a great believer in something I once read: “ASS, GRASS OR CASH. NO ONE RIDES FOR FREE.” It’s amazing how much you can learn from a trucker’s bumper-sticker. They’re a wise tribe of nomads.

Anyway, Foul Owl and Pickles are designed by Pete Fowler as part of his Monsterism Island Series. (God help us, the site is in Flash.)

It’s just the sort of vinyl nonsense that I like to have laying around my place. Aside from the fact that it’s an owl with his pet monster, the blurb makes it pretty obvious why I like them.

Deep in the caves of Magic Mountain lies the home of Foul Owl. He spends his time creating new pets for himself and his friends in the secret societies. Pickles, an unusual fellow derives from a type of root that is particularly delicious with noodles!

And I even used to have a goblin named Pickle. His name was “The Goblin Pickle.” He always ate all the pickles and I always got blamed. No one could see him except me. But I took my Nan’s advice and try not to discuss my imaginary friends. It gives people the right idea.
