A fairly large section of Queen West, fairly close to where I work, burned down.
And there’s nothing like a tragedy to bring out the most shamelessly vulgar in people. Unfortunately, there’s also a downside: Slack jawed tourists with cameras. Some people just need to pick through the rubble of other people’s lives and take photos.
Out of everything that was lost, I’ll miss Suspect Video the most. Not because I ever went there — I hardly watch movies — but because friends of mine did. And one of them was going to rent and burn me a copy of “The Sweet Smell of Success.” He said I’d love it. Having watched this Youtube clip, I thought he may be right.

And now I may never see it. That’s a fucking tragedy.
If you want to help out some of the people who were burned out of their homes, there’s a Facebook group with a bunch of links. But, if you want to help me out, burn me a copy of “The Sweet Smell of Success.”
This whole thing has left me feeling rather inconvenienced.
