The blind have miniature seeing eye horses. This makes me want to gouge my eyes out so I can get one. And I would too. But then I couldn’t see how cute they are.
And I owe Janet Hill an apology. She told me about these creatures and I didn’t believe her. Can you blame me? It doesn’t make any sense. If you were blind, wouldn’t you want to ride the horse to avoid bumping into anything? I would.
So, long story short, I said that she was either crazy or a liar. She might still be a liar — I have no idea — and I’m fairly certain that she’s crazy, but she was telling the truth about the little horses. And I feel like I’ve gone crazy.
I’ve lived for 29 years and never –not once– have I suspected the existence of miniature seeing-eye horses for the blind. Ponies sure. I even believe in ponies. But miniature seeing eye horses?
Did you people all know? Why didn’t anyone tell me. And what the fuck else are you hiding? Is there some sort of magical flying cat too? A flute playing dog who dances on rooftops every full moon so that the sun will rise for another month?
I shouldn’t be the last to find out about these things. It just isn’t right.
