FDA Okays Cloned Food

The FDA has decided that cloned food products will not be labeled. I have mixed feelings.

It’s most likely safe to eat clones. It must be. Cloned food is, by definition, the same as the food it is cloned from. That’s what a clone is.

The greatest danger is that a bull gets cloned and it turns out that his clone is evil. They fight for control of a gun and it gets kicked away. Luckily it is picked up by the good bull’s loving cow-wife. But she can’t tell the difference between the two. Both are pointing at each other with their horns and saying: “I’m the good bull, shoot him!” But the decision is hers. We can only pray that evil bull makes a mistake and that Cow-Wife makes the right choice.

In an ideal world we, like that cow-wife, would be able to make an informed decision. But sometimes we just have to close our eyes and shoot.

That’s exactly what we’re going to end up doing.

The companies who refuse to use clones will start making dubious claims about their food being “all natural.” If there’s one thing I trust less than the claims of corporations, it’s the claims of corporations who pretend to be hippies. Whatever happens here, you can be sure of one thing – we won’t know what we’re eating but it’ll taste like bull.
