Christmas has to be stopped. And don’t give me that Scrooge bullshit. If Dickens was alive today he would not support the greed, stress and stupidity that Christmas has become. Think about the moral of that story for a moment. It was about a greedy man who learned about the value of generosity and friendship.
It was not about whipping the western world into a consumerist frenzy. It did not advocate using Chinese slave labour to build disposable shit. Just think of all the Chinese Bob Cratchets and Tiny Tims who have to work in factories to build those stupid Christmas lights and plastic trees. Think of the 12-14 hour shifts, the toxic fumes and the horrific pay. That’s the reality behind the magic little elves.
I’m not buying anyone a damn thing. I do not want anyone to buy me anything. Christmas is morally indefensible. It is greedy and it is disgusting. Parents should not be lying to children about the existence of Santa Claus. Nothing makes me lose more respect for a news station than hearing them talk about Santa as if he actually exists. The real news story is that parents have participated in this pernicious lie for yet another year. If we can’t even tell children the truth about Santa how are we ever going to tell adults the truth about religion?
Fuck it. Fuck Christmas. Don’t fall for it all again.

Well said! This time of year in our culture IS obscene . It magnifies everything I detest about our consumerism mentality . Thanks for making the point. Everyone is stressed and everyone seems to hate the whole thing but like sheep we are guilt- tripped into marching to this drum.. Buy shit that people don’t want or need to create the perfect experience . Slow down..be with poeple you like and enjoy some good food and drink.
