I love Pacman. As a child I spent endless hours in bars playing table top versions of that game. But these days it’s kinda hard to find. Sure, I know that you can get it on a computer and blah blah blah but it just isn’t the same. So imagine my surprise when I found out that there’s a new version of it. And this time they’ve added more than a red bow to make Pacman a Pacwoman.
Wim van Eck has designed a version where crickets play against you. They are the ghosts. How could this be possible? you might ask. Well, it’s pretty simple. The bugs are put into a maze and tracked with a camera. When you eat a pill the floor vibrates around you and they run off.
I suppose it’s all right but . . .
I really want a DARPA remote controlled insect game. Let’s say you control a tarantula and you go around a maze killing crickets. Or maybe even a stranger’s house, biting sleeping humans. The people could be paid 50 bucks a month. And if we made sure that they’re in the third world, we could cut that down to five. That is, if they have houses. I doubt that a tin shanty would be much of a challenge. Maybe that could be the first level. The last one would be Martha Stewart.
