Here’s the basic idea behind MERTZ: It’s a robot head that’s learning to socialize but it looks like an infant so that people don’t expect very much from it. Everyone knows, kids are fucking stupid. Most of them don’t even have the sense to take off their pants before they take a shit. Seriously – that’s pretty dumb.
Instead of expecting less from the robots we should expect more from children. Being an infant should never be a reason to not know how to walk, talk or act like a civilized human being. (That means using the toilet.) By coddling these fat-headed, big-eyed toddlers we’re merely teaching them that it’s okay to urinate in their pants and speak gibberish. Some people even speak nonsense to their children! Others will even clean up their feces!
I hope MERTZ raises the bar for those little parasites and they stop lowering the bar for it
