One of nature’s most besmirched animals, the sheep, has proven that they are not just senseless, bleating followers. They can also learn to treat their own illnesses. Scientists made them sick and then gave them food that makes them better. For at least five months after, when these sheep were made ill, they decided to eat the cure. While they weren’t smart enough to avoid eating the poison in the first place – I doubt that was an option – they certainly proved to be more clever than anyone expected.
Maybe now they will be able to shake off years of insults and oppression at the hands of the powerful mint jelly lobby. But, probably not. They just taste too damn good.

I always had an inkling sheep were clever critters. But I like how you show both sides of the issue. First the article on their cleverness by the New Scientist. And then opposing evidence in the form of that photo.
Great post! Fair and balanced.

Thanks V.
Sheep are odd looking. They probably bite.
