If you haven’t heard of Shrodinger’s Cat you should find out about it. Now. Go ahead. I’ll wait. (While we smarty pants wait for the dunderheads to catch up with the class, I’ll just mention that I named my cat Shrodinger. Not many people get the joke. But we do, don’t we? Yes, we’re so clever.)
Okay, welcome back slow pokes.
Well, they’ve made a Quantum Computer that harnesses that Cat Power and to no one’s surprise, some weird shit happens.
Specifically, at the University of Illinois they have built a non-running quantum computer that really works. That means it produces answers without actually running.
Team member Onur Hosten might just have the driest sense of humor I’ve ever heard. He says: “A non-running computer produces fewer errors.”
Thanks Onur. They used to produce fewer answers too.
