I recently read about a study that said that men who’s masculinity was threatened “displayed more homophobic attitudes, tended to support the Iraq War more and would be more willing to purchase an SUV over another type of vehicle” In short, they kinda acted like dicks.
It appears that robots have the same problem. The Robocoke looks like the gentle, industrious type but not so with Mr. Diet Pepsi. He carries two guns, has exaggerated shoulders (for muscles?) and has a strange cylindrical object dangling from between his legs. It’s almost as if he’s trying to say – “I may be Diet Pepsi but I’m all man.”
And just how confident is Robocoke? He doesn’t even have hands. Just an ability to change into a can of sody pop.
That seems like an odd ability, considering that he would likely be in more danger disguised as a one of the most popular beverages in the modern world than he would as a cute little robot. It makes no evolutionary sense. It would be like a rabbit disguising itself as a steak.
So, my guess is that he is really a can of coke disguised as a robot. The message: “Don’t drink me.”
